I'm Dustin Bridgewater

 

 I had one of the best jobs you could imagine. I've been chasing it ever since.

 During my time working in the Albertsons Growth Accelerator Program, I worked with numerous CPG start-ups across the store. Emerging brands carving their path to retail. Founders, CEO’s, regional sales managers, I worked with them all. The passion, excitement, & will to win was everywhere. The samples were endless, the people amazing. However, it was time to SLO down.

 My Wife & I had always dreamed of moving to San Luis Obispo (SLO), California. After studying at Cal Poly, we knew this was our place to plant roots & build a family. We made it, and living our dream with our beautiful little girl. 

 Now for the career I’ve been chasing ever since I left the accelerator program. In the years between I’ve gotten some great experience. I joined a struggling brand to help boost its performance & prepare for a sell. Once that transaction was complete, I joined an early-stage Ag Tech Gene Editing company to help commercialize & launch the first Branded Gene Edited product in Grocery Retail. I’ve loved every minute of it and learned a ton in the process.

 It wasn’t until I started teaching at Cal Poly SLO that I knew I wanted more. Working with young college students brought back that fire to help more than just one company succeed. The energy, excitement, & creativity I see in the classroom made me realize it was time to create the role I’d been missing for so long.

 While there are many great courses & programs out there. I observed a gap in the support available for early-stage food and beverage startups: an abundance of strategic advice but a scarcity of practical, executable guidance. In addition to being thousands of dollars. Branding, Selling, Marketing, and a lot of strategy seemed to be the common theme. What about the hard work that comes before the fancy branding & selling? The endless list of action items, timelines & execution?

 As an early-stage brand in a market where investment funds are non-existent, I’m seeing a few common trends. Teams are small & over worked; mistakes are being made & opportunities missed. Paying thousands of dollars for a course on strategy isn’t in the cards for most. You need actionable insights for immediate application, you need process for progress.

 I'm not here to promise distribution or seek a stake in your company. However, I will teach you how emerging brands can be successful in grocery retail, I will teach you how one of the largest Private Label programs in the world launches new items. I will commit to teaching you everything I know drawing from my extensive experience on both sides of the aisle.
